The elders would be delighted! Delighted because they'd been handed an excuse to grill someone about their sexual/non-sexual activity. It would give them a welcome respite from having to focus on CLAM meetings every week.

The Extremes of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Scoiety
by The_Seeker ini have been reading through the posts over the last few days and something occurred to me, an epiphany, if you will.
people don't leave the jw's, especially those raised in the religion, simply because it is easier for them to continue to believe a lie even when faced with the truth.
the ability to think critically is something that most jws lack, we all know this to be true, but i truly believe many of them are simply too lazy to try anything different.

Most J.W.'s haven't had an epiphany yet, ("a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization") but many are sitting in their K.H.'s two times per week wondering what the hell is going on with their beloved religion - AKA "the truth."
All they require is a catalyst, something to strike home so hard that it can't be ignored or put to the back of their mind. Whether it's a personal attack, a scriptural realization, or a media revelation, is not important - as long as activates the mind. "Seeds" will grow if the soil is ready for it!

The WTBTS is rejoicing at gaining their longed for legal status throughout every region in Germany, but many German J.W.'s have/will discover what it really means for their congregations.
The wording on their web site should alert J.W.'s to the real motive behind the cult's determination to achieve legal status - money!
"The decision is significant for the Witnesses because even though they have been present in Germany for well over 100 years, their national headquarters and the thousands of congregations in the country were considered independent religious associations."
Why would numerous congregations being "independent" be a problem for "mother" in the U.S.? The org in Germany (and by extension, Warwick) now has legal & central control over every congregation and K.H. Corporate J.W.-dom doesn't permit independent thinking, so it's not going to tolerate independent congregations. The org will continue to sell off local K.H.'s throughout the world via merging & consolidation - and convince some J.W.'s that it is a good thing.

It's extremely uplifting and encouraging to see the increase in media coverage of the WTBTS's worldwide Paedophile JWitness Protection Scheme.
I look forward to sharing these latest revelations with an elderly sister who visits Ireland annually and witnesses while she's there. Maybe she could also be persuaded to stop her sizeable monthly donation at her local KH.

Independent Catalonia
by mikeflood init's a deja vu from matthew..."for nation shall rise against nation.....".
it seem that periods of instability occur around the world periodically.
since the arab spring to brexit and trumpism people want change.

"I think that if some population have 'individual identity', like their own language and want self governance should be allowed to be independent."
I remember that people in the region of Cornwall (S.W. UK) wanted some kind of independence from the rest of the UK.
Question: Where do you draw the line when every other group of people in a country wants "independence" from its central government?

"According to the religion’s own internal rules in force at the time, when elders encounter a case of child sexual abuse they are required to contact the legal department of the London-based Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain."
This directive to elders is still enforced and obeyed, so why is the press using such obtuse wording?
"The Jehovah’s Witnesses religious movement is coming under increasing criticism for its handling of child abuse allegations."
Increasing criticism of the WTBTS's handling of child abuse allegations should stop immediately, and laws enforced/created to comprehensively expose the org's corruption - for all the world to see.
It's long overdue for the media to apply the same scrutiny to the WTBTS which Harvey Weinstein & Hollywood are rightly being subjected to.

Excellent dubstepped. You are confirming the org's worst fears - that the internet & social media is their biggest single worry. Look forward to hearing more.

The God of This System Of Things 2 Cor.4:4 is the same God of Rom 13:1-7
by smiddy3 inaren`t these two scriptures talking about the one and same god ?.
2 cor.4:4 speaks about the god of this system of things blinding the minds of unbelievers .. this scripture has always been attributed as to applying to satan the devil.
he is not blinding the minds of believers but unbelievers and i think that is a critical point about 2cor.4:4. rom.13:1-7 states that christians should be in subjection to the superior authorities under the arrangement of god and whoever opposers the authority has taken a stand against god.

Interesting reasoning point Smiddy.
Other scriptures make the point that Satan is the god of the system of things/world of mankind, but not God Almighty & over all.
The following verses can also be used to demonstrate the absurdity of the org's claim that Christ has been ruling alongside Satan over mankind/earth since 1914. Joint kings?????
Oh I forgot, there are eventually going to be 144,001 joint kings ruling the earth, so two J.K.'s just now must make sense.
(Luke 4:6) Then the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
(John 12:31) Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
(John 14:30) I will not speak with you much more, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has no hold on me.
(John 16:11) then concerning judgement, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
(Ephesians 2:2) in which you at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience.
(Ephesians 6:12) because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers,....
(1 John 5:19) We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
(Revelation 12:9) So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth....

Judging by the seller's "other items", it wouldn't surprise me if some people have seen a nice little business opportunity and are pillaging the libraries of congregations which are being "merged" or "consolidated."

Hitachi TV Review
by The Fall Guy ini have never reviewed a product before, but having purchased a hitachi 50 inch full hd lcd tv at the weekend, i thought i'd share my experience.
hitachi tv's are now made in turkey, and not by the hitachi company.
the uk's sole supplier is the argos company.
-
The Fall Guy
@ gorbatchov - If the TV does not have a fault, there is definitely no returning it if it has been plugged in and set up, because it is classed as second-hand and is now un-sellable by Argos. (according to the manager)
The huge 30-day return poster in-store specifically states that not all items are included if you change your mind.
I've learned a lesson or two.
